CCSIO Benchmark

CCSIO Benchmark (Cold-cache Sequential I/O Benchmark) measures how fast very large files can be read/written from/to a specific location. Or to put it in other words, CCSIO Benchmark will put storage devices to the test and uncover their top read and write speed. Simply select the storage device you want to benchmark, initiate the benchmarking process, and let CCSIO Benchmark do its thing. You’ll have a result just moments later.

CCSIO Benchmark provides support for any Windows edition from Windows Vista onward, which is great. What’s even better is that CCSIO Benchmark is a portable application that doesn’t need to be installed. To get started with CCSIO Benchmark, you need only download an executable and run it.

This application’s interface made up of two sections: Test Location (top) and CCSIO Benchmark (bottom). From Test Location you can select the storage device that will be benchmarked and you can view a bit of information about said storage device. Once you start the benchmarking process, CCSIO Benchmark will display a read speed graph and a write speed graph.

Once is done benchmarking a storage device, it will display the top read speed and top write speed on its interface. On top of that, it will generate a report which you can view in text format. Speaking about reports, it’s worth pointing out that Pipemetrics, the developer behind CCSIO Benchmark, will ask if it’s okay to share your benchmark results. By sharing this data you’re helping Pipemetrics "understand if it’s possible to accurately predict and optimal I/O strategy for a device based solely on its type and a bit of host information."
